Esther Wolf Friedlob

Esther Wolf Friedlob, died January 28, 2013 at almost 101 years of age. Born June 16, 1912, in Chicago, Ill. She was born June 16, 1912, in Chicago, Ill. She was valedictorian of her high school graduating class in Indiana and graduated from the University of Chicago in 1935. During WW II, she worked in social services in Chicago and assisted individuals with disabilities in finding employment. Shortly after the war, in 1945, she married Nathan B. Friedlob and moved to St. Louis, Mo. She devoted her time and energy to community and educational activities such as The League of Women Voters and Brandeis Group. She was a member of Temple Shaare Emeth for over 60 years where she was active in sisterhood activities. For more than the past 10 years, she spent much time with her daughter Sally and son-in-law, Steven, in California. When in California, she was active in elder-hostel activities at the Milken Jewish Community Center and enjoyed many friends. She had a special relationship with Steven. Esther had a passion for life. She woke up every day happy and ready to make each day an adventure. She was very popular. She will be missed. Friedlob is survived by her two children: Sally Friedlob Rubenstein (Steven), and Lois Pinder (Jerry) of Lawrence, Ks. Rindskopf-Roth
