Eleanor (Ellie) Ruth Dubinsky Landesman passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025 in Delray Beach, FL.
Born in St. Louis on October 19, 1926 to the late Kate Weisstein Dubinsky and Carl Dubinsky. Ellie was the beloved mother of Sharon Landesman Ramey (Craig Ramey) of Sarasota, Ben Landesman (Dianne Buckley) of Denver, and David (Linda) Landesman of St. Louis; grandmother of Jane Bacha of Atlanta, Ann (Georges-Guy) Andre of Silver Spring, MD, Jessica Landesman (John DeLeon) of St. Louis, Taylor Landesman (Molly Carney) of St. Louis, Tucker Landesman (Vinicius DeOlivier Gouvea) of Berlin, Germany, and Sam Ramey (Cassandra Cruz) of Sarasota; and great-grandmother to Chloe and Kate Andre; Beau, Ella, and Olive DeLeon;and Marion Landesman.
Ellie led a remarkable life filled with adventure, an openness to new ideas and ways of living, a love of nature and art, and many cherished friendships.
She was happily married to Eugene (Gene) Landesman for 52 years until his passing in 1997. Over the years, Ellie worked at Lad and Lassie, the children’s Clayton clothing store of her late sister, Lorrayne Schwartz; and the family antique shop, Landesman Galleries, and the family theatre, the Crystal Palace in Gaslight Square.

She became a yoga instructor and massage therapist, and helped lead many special workshops and spiritual gatherings at their farm, Morning Glory, in Arnold, MO.
After Ellie and Gene moved to Boca Raton in 1992, she was elected social director at Sable Point and then president of the Resident Committee at Harbour’s Edge Health Center. Ellie had an exceptional ability to tell stories filled with humor, wisdom, and detailed tales about travel, people, and her own imagination. In later years, Ellie became a talented painter and wrote a number of books for family and friends.
