Cheryl Bierman Isley passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, in Stuart, Florida after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 75 years old.
A proud St. Louis native, Cheryl graduated from University City High School and went on to earn her degree from the University of Missouri. She later became a South Florida transplant and self-appointed evangelist for all things sunshine and palm trees, but never stopped cheering for her beloved St. Louis Cardinals, even in the toughest seasons. Above all, Cheryl was a revered and loyal friend; someone whose presence left a lasting imprint on everyone lucky enough to know her.
All who crossed paths with Cheryl will remember her for her many passions. From bargain hunting to Farberware, her creative, entrepreneurial spirit and deep love for thrifting shone through in everything she did. Cheryl brought energy and joy to every room, inspiring those around her with her zest for life and eye for hidden treasures.
She wasn’t just cherished by her beloved family; she was adored by countless friends across the country. Cheryl had a rare gift for building community wherever she went, creating deep and lasting connections in every chapter of her life. Whether it was with friends she’d known since toddlerhood or those she met later on, people were drawn to her warmth and authenticity. She made everyone feel like they belonged and once you were in Cheryl’s life, you were in it for good.
Cheryl is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 53 years, Jon Martin Isley; her daughters, Karen Loiterstein (Andrew) and Stefanie Isley (Ari Kagan); and her five beloved grandchildren – Samuel, Abigail, Mara, Noam, and Theo – who brought her endless pride and joy. She is also deeply missed by her brother, Philip Bierman (Mary Wampler). Cheryl is preceded in death by her sister, JoAnn Black, and her parents, Sylvia (née Cohen) and Marvin Bierman. Cheryl wore many additional titles, including fun aunt, cherished sister-in-law, thoughtful cousin, and treasured friend; she embraced each role with heart. She will be remembered always, with deep love by all who knew her.
