Bernard H. Pinken

Bernard H. Pinken, May 27, 2016.

Beloved husband of Jean Schuver Pinken, father and father-in-law of Barry (Alexis) Pinken and Faryl Kaelin. Cherished grandfather of Ryan (Tricia) Pinken, Rebecca Kaelin and Lori Mariani. Dearest great-grandfather of Molly, Charlotte and Beau Pinken.

Bernard Pinken was born July 13, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY to Sam and Rebecca Pinken. His parents and his brother Martin moved to San Antonio, TX where he graduated high school and met his wife of 73 years, Jean, who he married in 1942 just before leaving for the war in Europe. He returned to St. Louis after WWII, and started his own glass manufacturing business which grew into a large and successful diversified manufacturing company. He was the Executive vice-president of Permaneer Corporation. He was published in the prestigious journal of Who’s Who in Business in the 1970’s. He served on boards for several business and religious organizations after retiring at the age of 46. He retired early in life to enjoy things that he missed when tirelessly working to successfully accomplish his goal to make something for himself and his family. He was an avid swimmer, and loved long walks on the beaches in Key Biscayne, Florida, but his true love was the love for his family. He was a selfless, self-made man who was adored by his family and he will be truly missed.

Private family services were held at Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol Cemetery in Ladue on May 29th. Memorial contributions preferred to the Jewish Federation of St. Louis or to the charity of your choice. BERGER MEMORIAL SERVICE
