Barbara was the proud single mother to her son, David Lewis and her daughter, Laurie Keena, who cared for her to the very end.
Barbara Lewis nee Spector was born in St. Louis where she lived all her life. She graduated from Beaumont High School, Class of 1950.
She was the granddaughter of Henry and Etta Lieberoff, who immigrated to St. Louis from Russia in the early 1900’s with their 6 children. Barbara was the daughter of the late Ann Lieberoff and step-daughter of the late George Reed.
She was employed by Hormel Foods for 35 years until her retirement. She loved the theater and was involved with the JCCA Center Players for several years. She made many friends there including her dearest friend, Kay Schlesinger.
Barbara volunteered many places throughout her life, The Fox, Stages, St. Louis Symphony and various committees at Congregation Shaare Emeth where she was a member.
Barbara was a companion and friend to the late Albert Kupper for over 25 years. They loved to travel. She was able to travel even more in her senior years and her favorite trip was to Israel. She made that trip with her cousins Bob, Hedy, and Cindy, her friend Sue and her daughter Laurie.
Barbara has left behind many cousins and friends who will miss her greatly.
