Adrienne Momi, born February 10, 1943, passed away at the age of 82 on March 19, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow that we let you know that our Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt and Cousin passed away at her home in Sebastopol, CA. She died much the way she lived with a stream of visiting family and friends that were always drawn to her warm natural smile and “interest in you.” She was a person of loving unintended charm and innate intelligence that afforded her a great many long-term friendships throughout her life.
Born in Chicago, IL, Adrienne grew up and lived in Miami Beach, FL into her college years having moved there with her family in 1953. At a young age she attended classes at the Art Institute in Chicago, an inspiring activity that contributed to her love of the arts throughout her life.
Adrienne lived in St. Louis for some 20 years during which time she raised her daughter, Kathy, and furthered her academic studies and productive career. A lifelong learner, her varied interests led to a degree in mathematics/computer science and her teaching in such subjects at the college level at Washington University.
After moving to California in the 1990’s, Adrienne earned a PhD in Mythological Studies presenting her dissertation on a neolithic sacred site as an artist’s book she created on handmade paper. Her artistic passion was always evident, and she worked in paint, printing, collage and text. She organized and led collaborative projects in Turkey and the Czech Republic and published a children’s book in 2010.
Adrienne always maintained a passion for her Judaism often incorporating those feelings in her art. While living in St. Louis she was active in Jewish organizations, particularly NCJW in which she served as Treasurer. During that period, she was a significant contributor in time and funds to the expansion in size and services of the residential facility, The Delcrest, into the expanded and modernized Gladys and Henry Crown Center for Senior Living.
Adrienne will be remembered by all that knew her for her gentle loving nature, laugh and smile, commitment to her faith, clever sense of humor, intelligence, concern and care for others and, of course, love of family.
Contributions in Adrienne’s memory are requested to the Gladys and Henry Crown Center for Senior Living or National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW).
