Temple Emanuel has announced Kevin Lee as the new assistant director of its religious school, expanding the leadership team ahead of the 2025 school year. A longtime Jewish educator and community member, Lee will continue teaching while also guiding curriculum and operations.

In this expanded role, Lee will take on curriculum development, staff coordination, school operations and family engagement—while still maintaining his presence in the classroom.
“Kevin has been an established and valued educator in our sacred community, well respected by students and parents alike,” wrote Senior Rabbi Elizabeth Hersh and Board President Barbara Lewington in a message to congregation members. “We are excited for him to take on this expanded leadership role.”
He won’t be working alone. Lee will partner closely with Rabbi Rocki Schy-Brunson, who steps in as assistant rabbi and director of education starting July 1.
“I am eagerly looking forward to working with Kevin this year,” Schy-Brunson said. “His passion and enthusiasm are infectious… and I can’t wait to learn from and with him this year.”
Both Lee and Schy-Brunson are members of the Temple Emanuel community, a factor that leadership says strengthens their connection to students and families alike.
“We are grateful for Kevin’s dedication, his collaborative spirit and his deep investment in our school community,” wrote Hersh and Lewington.
