(JTA) Rocket fire from the Gaza Strip hit a building in Sderot.

The Associated Press reported that the building, hit Friday, was a kindergarten.

In response, Israeli combat aircraft hit components of Hamas’ infrastructure in Gaza, the army said in a statement Saturday.

No one was injured in the exchange. The kindergarten was empty at the time it was hit.

Haaretz reported that thousands of mourners attended the funeral Sunday of Michi Mark, a father of ten who was killed when terrorists opened fire on his car as he drove near a settlement.

His children, in a video posted on social media, appealed for attendance to memorialize their father.

“Come and hear how good our father was, and you’ll be better people, more loving people,” one of his daughters said.

President Reuven Rivlin delivered remarks at the funeral; Mark was a distant relative.

Mark’s wife was seriously wounded in the attack on Friday and two of his children were lightly wounded.
