Mossad chief meets with intelligence official in Turkey

JERUSALEM (JTA) — The head of Israel’s Mossad secret service met with a Turkish intelligence official.
Mossad director Tamir Pardo met Monday in Ankara with the Turkish intelligence agency’s undersecretary Hakan Fidan. The two men discussed the threats from Syria and Iran, and shared information, according to the Turkish daily Hurriyet. They also reportedly discussed the current protests in Turkey.
Pardo reportedly requested a meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, but got no response to the request, according to Hurriyet. He reportedly made the request to Fidan.
Part of the meeting focused on a discussion of intelligence-sharing between the two countries.
Israel has not confirmed the Hurriyet report.
