JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Israeli border policeman was injured by an explosive device at a military post near Rachel’s Tomb.
The explosion on Tuesday came after about 40 Palestinians gathered and began rioting near the post, throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails at the soldiers stationed in the area.
The troops used crowd dispersal methods, including tear gas and rubber bullets, to disperse the rioters.
The tomb, considered the final resting place of the biblical matriarch, is located between Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
