(JTA) — An Israel Border Police officer was moderately wounded in a stabbing in northern Israel.

After stabbing the 37-year-old officer twice in the back near the Nahariya central bus station Friday night, the assailant fled the scene, the Times of Israel reported, citing Walla news.

Israeli forces have set up roadblocks in the area in order to find the attacker, who is believed to be Arab.

The Israel Defense Forces also surrounded a West Bank village where a car-ramming attack wounded six soldiers earlier in the day. Soldiers also clashed with Palestinian demonstrators in various incidents in the West Bank and Gaza, wounding at least 43 Palestinians, according to Palestinian reports.
