Congregation Shaare Emeth has begun Torah Tuesday, in which members of its clergy produce 2 to 3 minutes of Torah teaching based on the week’s parsha.

“We wanted to do something on a regular basis that wasn’t promoting events or fundraising,” explained Tori Luecking, director of communications at the synagogue. “We wanted to provide members of (the St. Louis Jewish community) with Jewish content and teaching on social media on a regular basis.”

Luecking said Shaare Emeth’s rabbis and cantor would rotate hosting these weekly teachings and provide their own perspectives to the lessons. The sessions will be videotaped and available on the synagogue’s Facebook page and in its e-newsletter that comes out on Thursdays.

“We thought this was a nice way to connect with our members and our community and learn together, even if it is virtually,” added Luecking.
