For her mitzvah project, Sara Marks collected items and filled 20 backpacks for Project Backpack, which  ‘provides area police departments, social service agencies, domestic violence shelters and Department of Family Services workers with backpacks filled with necessities and comfort items,’ according to the group’s website.
