Jamie Gavril, who has been teaching for 13 years, was recently honored by Ladue Horton Watkins High School with the district’s Excellence in Education Award for October 2024. Gavril, now in her 10th year at Ladue, received the award for her unwavering dedication to her students, colleagues, and academic content.
“When I arrive in the morning and leave in the evening, Jamie’s car is always on the lot,” said Principal Brad Griffith.
Gavril’s journey in education began after she graduated from Parkway Central High School in 2008. She earned a degree from Indiana University in 2012 and has completed two master’s degrees in education, from William Woods University and Western Governors University.
A member of United Hebrew, Gavril says she loves teaching because it’s never boring.
“The students, the academic content, and my colleagues always keep me on my toes and inspire me to be the best teacher I can be,” said Gavril.
