Jewish Light readers may want to tune into Nine PBS (Channel 9) Monday, March 25, at 7 p.m. to hear writer Shula Neuman discuss her recent story “Confronting the Lindbergh Legacy in St. Louis” on “Living St. Louis” with Jim Kirchherr. Neuman’s story, which in addition to the Light was published in the Riverfront Times, the Forward and Brandeis Magazine, investigates St. Louis’ complicated relationship with aviator Charles A. Lindbergh, whose legacy of antisemitism remains unquestioned even today.
In addition to the interview, the show also takes viewers on a tour of the old St. Louis County Lunatic Asylum, now the St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center South on Arsenal Street. Today, it is a state funded 180-bed forensic inpatient treatment psychiatric facility operated by the Missouri Department of Mental Health’s (DMH) Division of Behavioral Health (DBH).
If you aren’t able to catch Neuman’s interview on Monday, the show will run again on Thursday, March 28, at 7:30 p.m., following “Donnybrook.”
