The J plans winter used book sale

The Jewish Community Center will hold a used book sale from Sunday, Jan. 29 through Thursday, Feb. 2 at the J’s Staenberg Family Complex – Arts & Education Building, 2 Millstone Campus Drive.

Thousands of titles will be offered, including mystery and intrigue, novels, biographies, politics, religion, sports, cookbooks, history, animals, art, science, science fiction, business, women’s issues, foreign languages, gardening, poetry, psychology, self-help and humor. Parents and educators will find a large selection of books for children and youth as well as educational materials for home schoolers.

Multiples of titles are available for book club reading along with miscellaneous videos, books on tape/CDs and DVDs.

Books are priced from 50 cents to $3. Special books — collectibles, art books and antique books — are priced as marked.

The sale starts with Preview Day on Jan. 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (the only day with an admission fee — $10; children 16 and under are free). Ticket sales will begin at 9 a.m.

The opening day $10 fee helps underwrite expenses for the sale.

There is no cost to shop the remaining days of the book sale.

Hours Monday through Wednesday are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Thursday is Bag Day, where patrons may fill a bag for $5 (hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

For more information on the sale, contact Zelda Sparks 314-442-3169.

Donations of books are still being accepted through Jan. 20 at the J in Creve Coeur.
