The Israeli American Council’s St. Louis branch is holding a rally tonight to stand in solidarity with Israel as the country is mired in an escalating conflict with Hamas, the militant group that controls the Gaza Strip.

The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight at the Jewish Community Center near Creve Coeur. It’s being held in conjunction with Israeli American Council (IAC) rallies across the country.

“In the past 24 hours, Hamas has fired over 1,000 rockets into Israel,” said Galit Lev-Harir, IAC St. Louis Council representative and co-president of St. Louis Friends of Israel. “We are holding a rally to show our support for Israel.”
