The popular summer festival season continues in our area, and like at any popular festival gathering, music is often a major highlight. This year’s St. Charles Jewish Festival, on Sunday, Aug. 25, is no exception, with several musical acts of note (sorry about the pun).
Who’s playing?
Headlining the festival is the Rogers Park Band, an award-winning Hasidic indie folk group that has captivated audiences across the nation. Formed in 2011 by childhood friends Yosef Peysin and Mordy Kurtz in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago, this dynamic duo was named Continuum Theater’s “Best Chicagoland Jewish Band 2014.”
Joining them will be Tali Yess, a musical sensation whose powerful voice and emotive performances have taken the Jewish music scene by storm. Yess’ music is not just a feast for the ears but a journey for the soul, embedding profound Jewish teachings into melodies that resonate across generations and genres.
Rounding out the musical offerings is local favorite Caravan Quartet. Known for their eclectic mix and vibrant performances, they are set to bring a local flavor to the festival that celebrates the community’s diverse musical tastes.
“We’re looking forward to this amazing lineup of musical talent coming to St. Charles,” said Bassy Landa, co-director of the Chabad Jewish Center with her husband, Rabbi Chaim Landa. “Jewish music is a dynamic and vibrant part of Jewish life and a great way to come together and celebrate.”
Security will be provided for the festival.
