“One Night Stand Up: A Night of Comedy with the Sklar Brothers” is the theme of Jewish Federation’s Young Professionals Division 2010 campaign closing celebration featuring Randy and Jason Sklar, the famous Jewish hometown twin comedians. The event will be held from 8 to 11 p.m., Saturday, Nov.13, at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel.

The evening promises to be fun and uproariously funny with the Sklars, who have been entertaining audiences for many years with their gift of comedic gab.

Sponsors of the YPD celebration include: University College: Washington University, Gold Level; Logan College of Chiropractic; Center for Integrated Health LLC; Abeles & Hoffman, Washington University – School of Engineering, and Prudential Alliance, Realtors, Silver Level, and the Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel, venue sponsor.

Event Co-Chairs are Adam Berkowitz, Andrea Kass, Ross Silverman and Melanie Winograd. Ben Cherry and Jeremy Lieb are Committee Advisors. Jeff Sparks is YPD Vice President of Campaign and Rob Bertman is YPD President.

The cost is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. If you have not made a minimum gift of $52 to the 2010 Jewish Federation Annual Community Campaign, do so when you RSVP.  Ben-Gurion Society (those who have contributed $1,000+ to the campaign) and Kol Yom members (those who have donated $365) will receive optional priority seating and a special gift.

In 1994, the Sklar twins moved from St. Louis to New York and within a few years honed their unique “tag team” style. Their talent grabbed the attention of MTV’s talent execs who created, “Apartment 2F,” a 1997 sitcom based around the twins’ characters living in New York City.  Shortly after, the twins developed pilots with HBO Independent Productions, WB and NBC, providing the voices of Biff and Chip Oblong on “The Oblongs.” They also guest starred in several TV shows including an Emmy Award winning episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” as conjoined twins in an episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” and as warring agents on “Entourage.” Their half hour Comedy Central Presents stand up special is still in regular rotation on that network.

In 2006, Randy and Jason completed their final season of the comedy series, “Cheap Seats” on ESPN Classic, building a strong following in both the sports and comedy arenas.  Currently, they write and appear in a regular segment on ESPN’s SportsCenter called, “The Bracket,” and fill in as guest hosts for Jim Rome on a nationally-syndicated radio show.

RSVP by November 7 at www.jewishinstlouis.org/ypd. There will be an open bar and snacks.
