The social action committee of Shaare Zedek Synagogue is hosting CyclingSavvy, a series of traffic cycling courses. “Truth & Techniques of Traffic Cycling,” a three-hour classroom session, will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at Shaare Zedek, 829 N. Hanley Road. This session is sponsored by Shaare Zedek and free to the community, but RSVPs requested at cyclingsavvy.org/stlouis.
“Train Your Bike,” an on-bike parking lot skills session, will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, March 18, on the parking lot of Shaare Zedek Synagogue. Participants will learn to command their bikes with precision and confidence. This session costs $15 and is limited to 10 people.
CyclingSavvy puts the rubber on the road with a 3.5-hour experiential tour of St. Louis roads. Those who have taken both the classroom and parking lot sessions may sign up for the “Tour of Mid-County,” to be held Sunday afternoon, March 18, following an Indian lunch at Gokul, 6101 Delmar Boulevard.
The Tour of Mid-County will include some of the most intimidating features a cyclist might find in his or her travels. This session is designed to give cyclists the confidence and skills to handle any situation they may encounter while riding their bicycles in the St. Louis metropolitan area. This session costs $15 and is limited to 10 people.
