SETYG, Shaare Emeth Temple Youth Group, is hosting the NFTY MV (Missouri Valley) Regional Winter Chavurah, a four-day weekend event on January 13-16. The program is designed to bring together its members, Jewish youths from Denver to Peoria, for a weekend of education, socialization and fun.
Youth Group Chairs Kayla Ellis and Lauren Hosse are coordinating the weekend events. Programming will be focused around the theme, MV Made: “The Power of Personal Expression-We Are Who We Are,” which is centered on helping participants plan their future as Jewish teenagers and young adults.
The weekend starts off with SETYG leading evening prayers at Shaare Emeth for his members and guest. The schedule also includes: educational programs led by the students, a unique social action program from the Religious Action Center in Washington, “It Gets Better,” an anti-bullying program designed by the youths; and two socials.
