Shaare Emeth plans Adult University

Congregation Shaare Emeth will hold its Adult University program, with a keynote panel and breakout sessions on the theme of “Feed Your Soul with the Fine Arts,” from 9:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Monday, May 16. Shaare Emeth is located at 11645 Ladue Road.
After bagels and coffee from 9:15 to 9:30 a.m., guests will choose one of two options for the first breakout session, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.:
• Design-Your-Own Theater Season: Learn what goes into crafting a great theater season in this hands-on workshop with educators from The Repertory Theater of St. Louis
• Jewish Music to Make Your Heart Sing: The singers with Shir Ami will present best-loved Israeli, Yiddish, Ladino and American/Jewish songs with hopes that participants will join them in singing and spirit
• Art of Shaare Emeth: Docent Bruce Feldacker will lead a tour of Shaare Emeth’s art collection.
From 10:45 to 11:45 a.m., the second breakout session will include:
• Who’s on first?: Try out your acting skills as educators from The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis lead theater and communication games. Audience participation encouraged.
• Book talk: Author David Baugher will share highlights from his book “Secret St. Louis: A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful and Obscure.”

After the second breakout, lunch from Sugarfire Smokehouse will be served until 12:45 p.m.
From 12:45-1:45 p.m. guests will join for the keynote panel featuring Steven Woolf, Artistic Director of The Rep, and Kathleen Sitzer, Artistic Director of the New Jewish Theatre.
