The St. Louis Jewish Light has planned its fourth annual Primetime Expo: Better Living for Baby Boomers and Seniors, taking place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26 at the Jewish Community Center Staenberg Family Complex, 2 Millstone Campus Drive. The event is free and open to the public.
New this year, the keynote address will take place in the Mirowitz Performing Arts Center from 11 a.m. to noon. The Jewish Light has partnered with the St. Louis Jewish Book Festival to bring Allen Salkin, New York Times writer and author of “From Scratch – Inside the Food Network” to the Expo. He will share a behind-the-scenes look at the history and the personalities that have made the Food Network what it is today. His book will be available for purchase.
The event continues from noon to 3 p.m. in the gym, with more than 70 companies offering a variety of goods and services that cater to baby boomers and seniors. Flu shots will be available from MedPost.
At 1 p.m., Alan Spector will present a workshop called “Making a Difference in Your Life and Your Community,” outlining 10 key elements of a fulfilling retirement. Spector is co-author of “Your Retirement Quest: 10 Secrets for Creating and Living a Fulfilling Retirement,” and through a grant from the Jewish Federation, he will be giving free copies to those attending the workshop.
