NCJW will honor Maxine Clark at ‘Celebrating Women’ event

National Council of Jewish Women St. Louis will honor Maxine Clark with its Hannah G. Solomon Founder’s Award during the Celebrating Women event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Neiman Marcus at Plaza Frontenac (on the second floor).

The Celebrating Women event recognizes the volunteer efforts of all NCJW’s members. The Hannah G. Solomon award, NCJW’s most prestigious recognition, honors recipients who exemplify the NCJW mission of improving the quality of life for women, children and families.

Clark was chosen to receive the prestigious Hannah G. Solomon Founders Award for her passion to improve K-12 public education and to invest in and mentor women and minority entrepreneurs. Her first product, Blueprint4SummerSTL, launched in 2015 and is a free, easy-to-use mobile app designed to help families navigate the best summer activities for their children. Her latest venture is the Delmar DivINe—the transformation of a neighborhood eyesore into a multi-use real estate development to open in Spring, 2019.

Clark is also a managing partner of Prosper Women’s Capital, a St. Louis-based fund created to invest in women owned businesses in the St. Louis area and a member of the Board of Advisors of Lewis & Clark Ventures, a St. Louis-based private equity firm.

In addition to her seat on the Build-A-Bear Workshop Board, Clark is a member of the Board of Directors of Footlocker, Inc. and Gymboree.  A recent past member of the National Board of Trustees of Teach For America, Clark is on the local St. Louis regional board, the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee of Washington University in St. Louis, the Board of Directors of Beyond Housing and Parents As Teachers, the national Board of PBS and the local Nine Network of Public Media. She and her husband Bob Fox are founding donors of KIPP St. Louis and Clark is a former member of the charter school advisory Board of Trustees.

The cost to attend Celebrating Women is $36 for NCJW members and $50 for non-members. Other sponsorship opportunities are available. There will be a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception following the program. Registration is available at ncjwstl.org or by calling 314-993-5181. Advance RSVPs are requested.
