National Council of Jewish Women-St. Louis is planning a two-day civil rights trip to Memphis. Guide Linda Koenig will lead guests on tours of the National Civil Rights Museum and other sites in civil rights history.
“Black History Month reminds us of how much we don’t fully understand about our country’s racial history and its continuing impact,” said NCJW STL Vice President of Advocacy Nancy Litz, who is spearheading the trip. “This trip provides a deep dive into that history, with unique experiences beyond the normal tourist visit to Memphis, and the chance to process the information through the lens of our Jewish values. Guided museum tours, special speakers, films and group discussions bring the past vividly to life and empower participants to be change agents in our region.”
The cost for double occupancy is $350 member/$425 non-members. The cost for a single room is $450 member/$525 non-members. Attendees will travel by luxury coach bus, leaving at 7 a.m. Saturday, April 13 and returning Sunday at 1:45 p.m. Transportation, overnight accommodations, Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast are included.
To join the trip, $100 deposit is due by March 1 and/or payment in full by March 15. After March 15, payment is transferable to another person but non-refundable.
