Congregation B’nai Amoona has joined forces with MERS/Goodwill and the City of Creve Coeur for a two-day electronics recycling drive on Sunday, Nov. 4 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  This year the drive will also welcome general donations.

“Our partnership with Congregation B’nai Amoona and the City of Creve Coeur has successfully prevented thousands of tons of electronics from piling into landfills,” says Lewis Chartock, President and CEO of MERS/Goodwill.  “This year, by opening up the drive to accept other items in addition to electronics, I have high hopes that we will attract even more donations from the community than in years past.”

The 2011 electronics drive collected more than 1,600 individual donations. Items collected included computers and computer accessories, phones (land-line and cellular), clocks, TVs, VCRs, DVD players, stereos, A/V equipment such as cable and satellite boxes, and anything with a cord, motor or a battery.

Donors can drop off their unwanted electronics and general donations at the Congregation B’nai Amoona parking lot on Nov. 4 and 5.  The Congregation is located at 324 S. Mason Road, between Conway and Ladue roads in Creve Coeur.  Participants will receive a tax receipt for their donation on the spot, and donation attendants will be present to help unload.  It is a one-stop-drop.  Prior sorting of items is unnecessary, and electronics do not need to be in working condition.
