National Council of Jewish Women-St. Louis Section will hold its second annual Men’s Event, benefitting NCJW’s Back To School! Store. The Men’s Event takes place  at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 7 at Cardwell’s in Clayton, 8100 Maryland Ave., to watch the Cardinals take on the Cincinnati Reds. While there, guests can mingle with friends, check out the sports memorabilia silent auction and help under-served kids in the community get ready for school. 

The Back-to-School! Store is a one-day event set up like a department store. Children are assigned an adult volunteer to help them “shop” for their back-to-school necessities, including a brand new school outfit, complete with shirt, pants, shoes, socks, underwear, winter coat, gloves and hat; and a backpack filled with school supplies, books and a variety of personal care items. Last year, NCJW served more than 1,200 children at the event.

The cost to attend the Men’s Event is $50, which includes drinks and appetizers. There are also sponsorship opportunities: $100 to sponsor the event (which includes event admission), $180 to sponsor a child at the Back To School!
