JFed launching ‘Blue Ribbons For Israel’ unity campaign

JFed+launching+Blue+Ribbons+For+Israel+unity+campaign

In addition to its current  Israel Emergency Fund to provide services, support and hope for friends and family in Israel, the Jewish Federation of St. Louis is launching a “Blue Ribbons for Israel” campaign in support of the safe return of the hostages taken by Hamas terrorists in Israel on Oct. 7.

“The Blue Ribbons for Israel campaign was created by the Jewish Federations of North America as an important unity project,” said Amanda Miller, vice president of communications for Federation.

Why the blue ribbon?

The blue ribbon symbolizes support and solidarity for the safe return of the hostages as well as solidarity with their families, and all who care about their safety.

Federation has set up an online ordering form. All you need to do is click here, and fill out the form.

“We wanted to have a place where local organizations and businesses could order blue ribbons and we would provide the ribbons with an information card they could display,” said Miller. “For individuals, the J has ribbons and people are welcome to go pick them up there.”

How to share #BlueRibbonsforIsrael

Blue Ribbons for Israel is also meant to be a social media campaign. Here are some ideas you can use to promote #BlueRibbonsforIsrael.

  • Save one of these images and add it to your Social Media Profile.

  • Hand out Blue Ribbons: Give these out at gatherings, rallies, dinners, social events, and more.
  • Take a photo and use #BlueRibbonsforIsrael: Get a good photo of you, your friends, your family, or your colleagues, wearing the blue ribbon – and don’t forget to use #BlueRibbonsforIsrael

“We hope people will wear a blue ribbon and show their support,” said Miller. “It is important to come together as a community and to know each other cares about the safe return of the hostages.”
