JCC offers Jewish birthing class for parents-to-be

Calling all couples expecting their first child in August, September or October.  The JCC Family Center is offering a class to Jewish and Interfaith couples who want to learn about Lamaze and other birthing techniques, but with a Jewish twist.  The class is taught by Hessie Needle, a labor and delivery nurse at Missouri Baptist, and runs from June 21 to July 12 on Tuesday nights from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Arts and Education building of the JCC Staenberg Family Complex.  A different Jewish leader or clergy member from the community will speak at the end of each class on topics of relevance to new families in the Jewish community.  The cost is $85 per couples for JCC members and $95 per couple for the general public.  To register, please contact Marianne Chervitz at 314-442-3454 or [email protected]. The program is coordinated through the JCC Helene Mirowitz Center of Jewish Community Life.
