JCC names Monte Sandler new board president

Monte Sandler has been installed as new board president of the Jewish Community Center.

“Monte Sandler will bring new energy, vision and commitment as we move forward with the next chapter at the J,” said Lynn Wittels, President and CEO of the JCC. “We were absolutely thrilled when he accepted the nomination to lead the agency at this important time in our history.”

Sandler says he is looking forward to a renewed focus on operations and rebuilding the endowment now that JCC’s legal issues with Bank of America are behind the agency.

“Monte has distinguished himself over the five or more years he’s been active as a J Board and Executive Committee member, reflecting his keen sense of the role the (JCC) plays in the community as well as a great understanding of the underlying business issues that the agency faces on a daily basis,” said Marty Oberman, past board chair and chair of the JCC’s nominating committee.

A certified public accountant, Monte serves as executive vice president of NextGen RCM Services, overseeing the company’s RCM (Revenue Cycle Management) business unit and managing its operations. Prior to that, he was co-founder and partner at Healthcare Strategic Initiatives (HSI) for 12 years, and before that, worked as an auditor with KPMG Peat Marwick. Sandler and his wife, Julie, have three sons and are members of Temple Israel.

“I am passionate about and committed to ensuring the (JCC) is sustainable in its finest and most financially sound position so that it is around for my sons’ future families and beyond,” said Sandler. “The services the (JCC) provide are critical to the community, and I am honored to lead the board and helping to ensure we continue our mission.”
