The St. Louis Holocaust Museum and Learning Center broke its daily visitor attendance record on Thursday, April 12, when 400 students on seven scheduled tours went through the museum. The students were from middle and high schools, private and religious schools. In addition, there was a significant number of walk-ins that day as well.

“Typically, April and early May are the busiest months for school visitors,” said Museum Coordinator Andrew Goldfeder, who noted an average April day receives three to four school groups a day, or about 175 kids.  Annually, the museum hosts between 25,000 and 30,000 students, he added.

The day’s visitors included groups from St. Louis city and county, two from Indiana, one from Iowa and a group of adults from the Jewish Labor Committee, organized by the Jewish Community Relations Council.  Twelve docents led tours and three survivors spoke.
