Hanukkah Hullabaloo

The Brothers Lazaroff’s fifth annual Hanukkah Hullabaloo drew a full house to Covenant Place on Dec. 5. This was a new location for the event — in previous years the dress rehearsal was held at Covenant, but the reception was so strong that organizers worked with Covenant Place to host the event itself, offering an opportunity to bring generations together and raise awareness of the senior living community. In addition to Brothers Lazaroff, the event featured Rabbi James Stone Goodman, performing his series of poems, “Eight Nights”, Will Soll’s raucous Klezmer music, DJ Boogieman and a special “STL Jews Who Rock” set. The Covenant Place Chorale perform a couple of songs with the Brothers Lazaroff. The Lazaroff wives fried up kosher latkes to pass out to the crowd. Beverages were provided by Urban Chestnut Brewing Company and Robust Wine Bar. Taste of Jerusalem provided an assortment of Mediterranean inspired kosher food and LuLu’s Seafood & Dim Sum offered a variety of choices. Photos by Kristi Foster and Philip Deitch
