Garden of Eden at the J Seeks Volunteers

A group of volunteers from Congregation Shaare Emeth helped at the Garden of Eden on Oct. 29. The group dug up 144 pounds of sweet potatoes, which were donated to the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry.

The Jewish Community Center’s Garden of Eden is looking for individuals or groups to help tend the community garden at the J near Creve Coeur. Each year, the garden yields more than 4,500 pounds of produce, which is donated to the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry. The garden relies on the efforts of volunteers who weed, harvest, clean, water and care for the garden. For more information on volunteering, either as an individual, or for those with a school, corporation, team or other group who would like to give back to the community, contact Stephanie Rhea at 314-442-3164 [email protected]. Times are available throughout the week and on the weekends.
