If you’re after some fun Hanukkah activities during this holiday season, steer yourself and your family in the direction of the Jewish Community Center. The folks at the J have assembled a full line-up of family-friendly fun to help usher in the Festival of Lights (which starts the eve of Dec. 25) as well as some New Year’s activities.

Sunday, Dec. 15 from 12-6 p.m.
Hanukkah at Garden Glow
Missouri Botanical Gardens
The J’s third annual community celebration of Hanukkah at the Missouri Botanical Gardens at Garden Glow features free music and vendors starting at noon. The Garden Glow opens at 4:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through the Missouri Botanical Gardens website: https://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/

Christmas Day Movie with the Jewish Film Festival
The J Creve Coeur– Mirowitz Performing Arts Center – Doors open at 10 a.m., showtime at 11
Enjoy “Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas,” a movie detailing the history of Jewish composers. Learn about their hand in the creation of today’s Christmas carols. Concessions will be on sale before the show. This is a free event – no R.S.V.P. is required
Wednesday, Dec. 25 from 3-6 p.m.
Christmas Matinee Movie & Hanukkah Candle Lighting
The J Creve Coeur– Mirowitz Performing Arts Center
Join the J to watch a G-rated movie. This year, since Dec. 25 is the first night of Hanukkah, the first candle will be lit after showing the family-friendly film. Kosher concessions will be on sale to raise funds for the J’s Family Center. Free event but please R.S.V.P. to https://formstack.io/E778A
Monday, Dec. 30 from 4-7 p.m.
New Year’s Eve Eve Hanukkah Party
The Hub STL in the District in Chesterfield
Join the Jewish community to celebrate Hanukkah and the pending New Year. All of the businesses at the District will be open for the festivities. The evening will feature the lighting of a digital menorah and an early New Year’s Eve ball drop with live music and entertainment. Free event – No R.S.V.P required.
