Jewish Federation of St. Louis is planning an educational mission to historic Philadelphia on Sunday, Aug. 4 and Monday, Aug. 5. Participants will explore American Jewish life from the Colonial period through modern day. Sites the group will visit include the National Museum of American Jewish History; Congregation Mikveh Israel, the oldest continuous synagogue in the United States; and the historic district, including the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, the Betsy Ross House and more. There is also free time open on Monday afternoon when participants can go to the Barnes Foundation Museum, which has a world-class art collection, or National Constitution Center, a museum dedicated to the U.S. Constitution.
Space on the trip is limited. A deposit of $100 is due by June 21 to guarantee a spot. To register or for more information, go to jfedstl.org/philadelphia-mission or contact Mindee Fredman at 314-442-3734 or [email protected]. Harvey Heiken is chair of the mission.
