Congregation B’nai El event highlights local jazz performers and local eateries

Join B’nai El Congregation at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 21 in “Serving Up Jazz and Local Flavors” as it welcomes the Eddie Randall Jr. Trio with featured vocalist Hugh “Peanuts” Whalum, singing Sinatra and other classics. Also featured at the event are liege waffles from Wafflicious and ice cream from Serendipity Homemade Ice Cream.

The Eddie Randall Jr. Trio is a long-time local favorite swing/jazz band. Since the 1950s, Randall has played legendary local venues with some of St. Louis’ finest talents and he still jams at local clubs such as Satchmos and Cookies.

Joining the Eddie Randall Jr., Trio is singer/pianist/saxophonist Peanuts Whalum, a much-loved and respected part of the St. Louis music scene. As a singer, composer and musician performing pop, swing, jazz, blues, underexposed classics and inspired originals, Whalum possesses smooth vocal sensibilities and instrumental savvy, playing both piano and tenor saxophone. Here in St. Louis, he was recently voted “Best Lounge Act” for two years in a row.

Tickets are $25; RSVPs may be made by check or credit card, either by mailing payment to B’nai El or calling the temple office 314-432-6393.  For more information, call the office or Buddy Loebner at 314-434-1913.
