Author to talk about keeping the ‘wow’ in relationships

Chabad of Chesterfield will welcome author, lecturer and relationship expert Rabbi Manis Friedman for a discussion  of “Putting the Wow Into Relationships and Keeping It There” on Sunday, May 19 at the Hilton Frontenac, 1335 S. Lindbergh Blvd.

The event, which will start with brunch at noon, will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Drs. Susan Feigenbaum and Jay Pepose.

Friedman uses ancient wisdom and modern wit to try to  captivates audiences. He hosts a cable television series, “Torah Forum with Manis Friedman,” which is syndicated throughout North America. 

Friedman’s first book, “Doesn’t Anyone Blush Anymore?” published by Harper San Francisco in 1990, currently in its fourth printing. He has appeared on CNN, A&E Reviews, PBS, and BBC Worldwide, and has been the subject of articles in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Seventeen and other publications.

In an effort to empower women in Judaism, he founded the world’s first yeshiva exclusively for women, Bais Chana Institute of Jewish Studies in Minnesota, where he continues to serve as dean. Since its opening in 1971, 22,000 women of all ages, backgrounds, and from all over the world attended the institute.

He is also a filmmaker and his most recent film, “The Lost Key to Intimacy,” was voted the winner of the Best Documentary at the Houston International Film Festival in 2015. The film was released to the public in January.
