Agudas Israel to celebrate double-chai anniversary at gala

Agudas Israel of St. Louis will celebrate its 36th year during a gala event Sunday, May 22 at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Clayton, 7750 Carondelet Ave.
At the gala, the congregation will honor seven founding members of the original Agudah minyan 36 years ago:
• Simcha Lyons
• Rabbi Chaim Yosef Herber
• Mayer Klein
• Neil Weintraub
• Abbie Spetner
• Rabbi Dr. Yitzchok Abramson, z’’l
• Kenny Spetner, z’’l.
The event will also pay tribute to Simcha and Tiki Lyons and their family for the contribution of a Sefer Torah to the shul in memory of Rabbi and Mrs. Shmuel Tuvia Stern. In addition, Ruth Abramson will be presented with Agudah’s Lifetime Dedication Award. A news release noted that Abramson and her late husband Rabbi Dr. Yitzchok Abramson have been “pillars” of the shul since its establishment and that Ruth “is a role model for countless women and their families spanning three generations.”
