Where to find Kohn’s newest sandwich honoring “The Great One”

The St. Louis Blues are off to their best start in franchise history, and one of the reasons is kind of a secret. Word has it, that several Blues players have been sneaking out of the locker room in between periods, stealthfully getting to Portal 12 where the Kohn’s Kosher Deli stand is located, and wolfing down “The Great One,” Kohn’s newest specialty sandwich.
OK, I made up the part about the players, but the sandwich is very real.
“The Great One” honors former St. Louis Blues player and NHL Hall of Famer, Wayne Gretzky. Upon learning the hockey legend and his wife, Janet, who grew up in Bridgeton, had moved back to the St. Louis area, Kohn’s co-owner Lenny Kohn decided it was time to pay homage. However, to try one, you need to find your way to Portal 12, just like the players, because this sandwich is only available at Blues games.
The Great One
“The Great One” features a house-made, spicy chicken sausage patty, topped with Kohn’s famous “Killer Pastrami,” caramelized onions and a red pepper mayo, served on an onion bun. All told, the protein on this is 8 and 9 ounces, so you should fill up quickly. The cost is $15.
Now, if that doesn’t tempt your tastebuds, you have other options including “The Gloria,” which is a ribeye steak, along with K Pastrami, caramelized onions and horseradish sauce. Or try another “game only exclusive” called “The Hat Trick,” which is cajun turkey breast, roast beef brisket, more Killer Pastrami, all of which is topped with slaw, Russian dressing and served on a homemade tzitsel rye.
Again, you can find Kohn’s Kosher near Portal 12 at the Enterprise Center. LET’S GO BLUES!
