Clayton and Samantha Schmidt of New York, N.Y., would like to announce the birth of their daughter, Ava Madeline Schmidt, on Oct. 23, 2020 at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, weighing 6 pounds, 11 ounces.  

Ava is the granddaughter of Shelley and Bennett Schmidt of New York, and Jodi and Mark Hirsch of Old Bethpage, N.Y. She is the great-granddaughter of Audrey Friedman of St. Louis, Marcia Messing of Los Angeles, Claire Hirsch of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Shirley Sanoff of Boynton Beach.
