Mayim Bialik’s tenure as the host of “Jeopardy!” has ended. The “Big Bang Theory” star, who was named the permanent co-host of the quiz show alongside former champion Ken Jennings last summer, announced the news on Friday through an Instagram post.
“As the holiday break begins in Hollywood, I have some Jeopardy! news. Sony has informed me that I will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy!” Bialik shared in her statement.
Expressing gratitude, she added, “I am incredibly honored to have been nominated for a primetime Emmy for hosting this year, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Jeopardy! family. To all of you who have supported me throughout this incredible journey, and to the fans, contestants, writers, staff, and crew of America’s Favorite Quiz Show, thank you.”
Bialik, 48, joined the show in 2021 as a guest host following the passing of the beloved longtime quizmaster, Alex Trebek, who succumbed to pancreatic cancer at the age of 80 in November 2020.
