You still have time to watch the second season of “Poker Face” which is streaming on Peacock through July 25. Reviews of the first two seasons are good to great. Here’s an excerpt of a second season review in the Daily Beast:
“‘Poker Face” isn’t a whodunit but a ‘howcatchem,’ with installments beginning with prologues that reveal the identity, and methods, of their killer before flashing back to detail how Charlie Cale (NATASHA LYONNE, 46)—a drifter with an amazing gift for deducing who’s being truthful, and who instinctively calls ‘bullshit’ when someone isn’t—unravels the conspiracy.”

“Lyonne” is a middle name. Her real last name is Braunstein and she was raised in a religious home. An early role (“Slums of Beverly Hills,” 1998) put her on the map. However, drug abuse almost ended her life, but she overcame that in 2006 and since has been on an upward trajectory.
Cale (Lyonne) is constantly moving because of death threats from “evil” casino owners. She is in every episode, but almost all the “Poker” actors play recurring or guest roles. An amazing number are Jewish. In the first season, RON PERLMAN, 75 (casino owner), and SIMON HELBERG, 41 (FBI agent) had recurring roles. Other Jewish guest actors included: RHEA PERLMAN, 77, ADRIEN BRODY, 54, JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT, 44, JUDITH LIGHT, 75, TIM BLAKE NELSON, 60, and ELLEN BARKIN. 71. The second season sees Perlman and Helburg return, along with NATASHA LEGGERO, 51; RICHARD KIND, 68; B.J. NOVAK, 45; CAROL KANE, 72, SPIKE EINBINDER, 33 (the brother of “Hacks” star HANNAH EINBINDER); SIMON REX, 50, and DAVID KRUMHOLTZ, 47.
