Jewish Song of the Week: A tune to enjoy while tending the garden

Artist Shira Kline, better known as Shir La La

Eric Berger, Associate Editor

In case you missed it, last week we published an interview with Rick Recht, the executive director of JKids Radio, Jewish Rock Radio and Songleader Boot Camp, and debuted our new Jewish Song of the Week feature.

Each week, Recht will select a different song from the JKids Radio and Jewish Rock Radio online radio stations and tell us what he likes about it.

This week, Recht has picked a song by Shira Kline, a New York-based musician and music educator who offers “outrageously hip Jewish kiddie rock,” according to her website.

Here is what Recht writes about Kline and the latest song of the week:

“July is here, and that means farmers market season is at its peak! I personally can’t get enough berries and fresh veggies! My friend Shira Kline a.k.a. Shir La La wrote this fun song called ‘Farmers Market’ for kids and their families all about the amazing diversity of locally sourced foods you can find at your nearest farmers market. I’ll see you there!”
