‘Au Revoir Les Enfants’ to screen at HMLC

The March film in the Holocaust Museum and Learning Center’s Sandra and Mendel Rosenberg Sunday Afternoon Film Series will be “Au Revoir Les Enfants.” The film will be screened at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 31 in the Holocaust Museum and Learning Center’s Theater in the Jewish Federation Kopolow Building, 12 Millstone Campus Drive.
This heartbreaking film portrays the friendship between two boys living in Nazi-occupied France. At a provincial Catholic boarding school, the youths develop true camaraderie until a devastating secret is revealed. This tale of courage and cowardice is based on actual events from the childhood of writer-director Louis Malle. The 1987 film, in French with English subtitles, has a running time of 101 minutes. Introductory remarks and a post-screening discussion will be presented by survivor Rachel Goldman Miller, who survived the Holocaust hidden in the French countryside.
