Joan Lipkin received the 2026 Margo Jones Award in April for the lasting impact she has had on the international theater community, and consistently promoting new works throughout her career as a playwright and producer.
Lipkin is the founder and artistic director of That Uppity Theatre Company and Dance the Vote STL and is the first St. Louisan to receive this award. Past winners of the award include actress Jane Alexander and theatrical producer and director Joseph Papp.
