Temple Mount activist seriously injured in Jerusalem shooting

JERUSALEM (JTA) — A man identified as a Temple Mount activist was shot outside Jerusalem’s Begin Center.

The man, 50, was shot Wednesday night by an unidentified assailant on a motorcycle, who fled the scene of the alleged assassination attempt.

He is being identified by Israeli media as Rabbi Yehuda Glick, head of the Temple Mount Faithful organization, which advocates building a Third Temple on the holy site.

Glick was a speaker at a conference at the center, dealing with Jewish rights at the Temple Mount.

He is being treated at Shaare Tzedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
