Remains of 9/11 victim identified

(JTA) — The remains of a man killed at the World Trade Center on 9/11 have been identified.
The identification 16 years after the terror attacks, announced on Monday, are the first since March 2015, The Associated Press reported.
The name of the victim was withheld at his family’s request, the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office said.

New and more sensitive DNA tests than were previously available were used to identify the remains.
He is the 1,641 victim of the 2,753 killed at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, to be identified. The remains of some 40 percent of those killed in the terror attack have yet to be identified.
