(JTA) — The Daily Mail of London published photos of Ehud Barak, a former prime minister of Israel and a challenger in the upcoming elections, outside the New York building of sex offender Jeffery Epstein.

The photos were taken in 2016, the Daily Mail reported in the latest revelation about the ties between Barak and Epstein, a multimillionaire who was convicted in 2008 of soliciting a teenage girl to prostitution.

On the same day, at least four young women also entered the building, the Mail reported. It did not say whether Barack and the women were there at the same time. Barak was seen covering his face, in what the Mail alleged was an attempt not to be recognized. Barak on Tuesday said it was to protect his face from the cold.

Epstein was indicted last week in connection with allegations that he was involved in sex trafficking dozens of minors in New York and Florida between 2002 and 2005.

Last week, Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta announced he is resigning over criticism about his handling of Epstein’s 2008 conviction when Acosta was U.S. attorney in Miami. The conviction allowed Epstein to avoid federal charges and was seen to be lenient.

Also last week, Haaretz revealed that Epstein and Barak became business partners for an investment in high-tech in 2016.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has challenged Barak to explain why he was paid over $2 million by the Wexner Foundation in 2004 for what was described as a research program when Epstein was among the foundation’s trustees.
