JERUSALEM (JTA) — An attempted stabbing attack in Jerusalem’s Old City ended with the alleged assailant shot and killed.

The assailant attempted to stab a family and a security guard at the Damascus Gate on Wednesday afternoon, according to police. He was shot and killed by a Border Police officer. No one else was injured.

He was wearing clothes resembling an Israeli military uniform, according to reports.

The Palestinian Maan news agency reported that the alleged attacker was a 20-year-old Palestinian after initially saying he was 14.
