A large audience gathered on Monday night, December 19 braving the cold weather in Kiener Plaza downtown for a public menorah lighting organized by Chabad of Greater St. Louis.

Tishaura Jones, mayor of the City of St. Louis, helped commemorate the second night of Hanukkah. Before lighting the menorah, Mayor Jones said “The story of Hanukkah begins centuries ago when a small band of Jewish heroes defied the odds in their stand against tyranny and oppression. Tonight we’re here to celebrate that spirit of perseverance.”
